Person County Environmental Health works to ensure the protection of our citizens through the protection of the environment in which they live, work, and play. We provide food and lodging inspections, inspect general health related complaints, design and supervise the installation of individual on-site sewage disposal systems, and work to protect our water supplies.

Septic Systems
The On-site Wastewater Section of the Person County Environmental Health Department is charged with the responsibility of protecting groundwater quality and to prevent the spread of disease related to sewage.

Food and Lodging
The Food and Lodging Program in Person County consists of four main areas, which are plan review and permitting, inspection, education, and complaint investigations.

Well and Water Supply Section
The Person County Well Program is charged with ensuring that all private water supplies are properly protected and that potable water is being supplied to the owner.

Environmental Hazards
Environmental Health collaborates with the nursing staff and other medical personnel of Person County, and a Regional Lead Specialist from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
