Healthy Personians is a certified community-based partnership whose priority is to assist the residents of Person County in establishing and maintaining healthy lifestyles. The primary goal of the partnership is to address the major health issues of the county.
The Healthy Personians Advisory Board serves as the principle governing body for the entire partnership.

WHO ARE THE HEALTHY PERSONIANS PARTNER GROUPS:
The current 3 Healthy Personians partner groups are:
- The Person County FAN (Fitness And Nutrition) Club - which seeks and supports opportunities that encourage physical activity and healthy eating.
- The Person County HIV Task Force - which strives to educate the residents of Person County on ways to prevent the spread of HIV.
- The Person County Adolescent Health Coalition - which brings together key community leaders to collaborate and implement teen pregnancy prevention programs.
WHO PARTICIPATES IN HEALTHY PERSONIANS?
Community leaders, volunteers, and elected officials, along with representatives from the health department, hospital, community health center, school system, various county agencies, businesses, and organizations are just a few examples of partnership members. The group collaborates to provide resources to the county that address health needs and concerns.
The Healthy Personians Advisory Board meets in July, October, January, and April on the 2nd Monday @ 11:30 am at the Person County Health Department.
WHEN & HOW DID HEALTHY PERSONIANS GET STARTED?
Healthy Personians started in the year 2000 as a way to address broad-based health needs in the community. It follows the Healthy Carolinians model of developing local partnerships to improve the health of all North Carolinians. For more information on Healthy Carolinians visit its web site at:

Healthy Personians has always been funded by grants and donations as well as state and local resources. Currently, the partnership is funded by the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, the NC Dept. of Health and Human Services, and Person County Health Dept. Healthy Personians is part of Person County Health Department's Health Education division.
