Person County Health Department is accepting applications for the following full-time position:

  PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE SUPERVISOR I / HOME HEALTH & HOSPICE

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This position is responsible for the direct administration, supervision, and coordination of Home Health and Hospice of Person County, a Medicare certified home health agency and a Medicare certified Hospice agency.  Duties include planning, scheduling, organizing, and directing work operations and standards, budgeting, training, and reviewing work of both employees and contract staff.  In addition, must participate in the on-call rotation.

DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess considerable knowledge of and skills in the application of nursing theory, practices, principles, and techniques employed in the field of public health.   Ability to plan, to coordinate, supervise, and review accurately.  Ability to teach, set standards, write policies and procedures.  Excellent communication skills.

REQUIRED MINIMUM TRAINING: License to practice as a registered nurse in N.C.  Graduation from a four year college or university with a B. S. Degree in Nursing which includes Public Health Nursing Rotation, four years Public Health Nursing including one year of experience in a supervisory capacity. Or graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing, five years of professional nursing experience, four of which must have been in public health including one year of experience in supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE III - (2 vacancies)
 GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Full-time position to provide skilled nursing services for the home health / hospice program. Rotate on-call schedule with other nurses. 

REQUIRED MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
License to practice as a registered nurse in N.C.  BSN or graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and one year of nursing experience, preferably in an acute care setting.

Excellent benefits include:  medical, dental, vision, life insurance, vacation and sick leave, approximately 12 paid holidays, 401K and member of the Local Government Retirement System.

SALARY:  $42,844- 44,986 (Negotiable based on experience)

PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE III
MATERNAL HEALTH COORDINATOR

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Primary purpose of this position is the coordination of maternity services.  This position must also provide nursing services in Family Planning, Immunizations and general clinics.

DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: License to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina.  Graduation from a four-year college or university with a BS Degree in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and two years of Public Health experience; or graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and three years of professional nursing experience including two years in public health; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent benefits include:  medical, dental, vision, life insurance, vacation and sick leave, approximately 12 paid holidays, 401K and member of the Local Government Retirement System.

SALARY:  $42,844 -  $44,986 (Negotiable based on experience)
