The purpose of the School Health Program is to assure that children achieve and maintain optimum health, in order to promote maximum physical, emotional and intellectual growth.
Through a written memorandum of agreement between the Person County Health Department and the Person county Schools, the health department will provide nursing consultation, support and assistance to the school nurses, which is employed by the Person County School Administration. The health department serves as back up when the school nurse is unavailable.
Our public health nurses, nutritionists, health educators, and dental hygienist provide services to the school staff, students, and community.
