VITAL RECORDS
The Health Director is the Registrar of Vital Statistics for the county and a management support person is the Deputy Registrar. It is the duty of the Deputy Registrar to assure all births, deaths, and fetal deaths occurring in the county are properly registered with the Register of Deed’s Office, and the Vital Records Branch at the state level in Raleigh. You may obtain certified copies of births and deaths at the Person County Courthouse / Register of Deeds or at the North Carolina Center for Health Statistics / NC Vital Records.
